During prohibition, this was the only way to legally obtain alcohol -- the prescription forms, which were supplied to physicians by the Federal Government, each had 2 copies -- the original and a duplicate that was created by carbon paper between the 2. The pharmacist would complete the bottom of the duplicate and keep on file for inspection by Federal Officers.

These make an interesting conversation piece display in home bars, man caves, recreation rooms, etc.
